I got a little carried away with this as I really didn’t mean to make it so detailed but she was just SO MUCH FUN to paint that I couldn’t stop ^^
The idea behind this is the opening of Mass Effect 3, which I still find incredibly powerful - not even the loveliest, most paragon Shepards could stay positive all the way through that first sequence. This is her aboard the Normandy, taking a breath for the first time since the Reapers attacked.
And Kaidan tries to say something - like he always does - to let her know he’s there, that they’re alive and that’s what matters. Something like “It’ll be okay.”
And she looks at him, knowing he’s just trying to make her feel better, and in the past she might have gone along with the illusion. But after today, she can’t even bring herself to smile.
“No,” she says instead, “it won’t.”

Dead fucking serious, finding out Claudia Black voiced Morrigan is the original reason I wanted DA:O. I only knew her as Vala (cause I hadn’t seen Farscape yet) but that character alone spawned one of my biggest girl crushes in history.
